This email confirms your registration
for the second annual California Core Knowledge conference. I hope that
you enjoy the conference and will experience a beneficial and rewarding day. Please invite your friends and co-workers who
may not have registered. We will welcome
them on Wednesday and take care of their paperwork that
day. Personal checks or cash can be used
for the economic $59 registration
fee.
DIRECTIONS: The
conference is being held on the campus of William Jessup
University. Maps are included below. If you would like specific directions from
your location, you can find the
details at www.mapquest.com/ or http://www.jessup.edu/about/directions/. Parking is free.
REGISTRATION: Registration will open at
7:45 with a complimentary continental breakfast provided. We will have labels posted on some tables to
assist you with networking and meeting others with similar interests. If you have any specific questions or concerns
which you would like publicized, there is a short form available at the registration
desk. If you complete this information, we will then mention your
interest/concern/query during the welcome and ask anyone with information to find you.
SCHEDULE-AT-A-GLANCE and SESSION DESCRIPTIONS: These will be posted at
www.ckcalifornia.org by June 15.
You will also receive a copy in the packet of information
provided when you check in at the
conference. Based on feedback from last year’s attendees, breakout sessions have been shortened to
50 minutes and we have added additional demonstrations
of classroom lessons. We have excellent
guest speakers and have planned the day to meet the
needs of educators working with
students Pre-K through middle school, administrators,
and parents.
FOCUS
ON NETWORKING:
One of the major objectives for this conference is to build a strong
foundation for future relationships
between those of us who are using Core Knowledge every day. Break out sessions are scheduled to encourage
networking with others who work with similar aged students, and presenters
have been encouraged to welcome questions and participation
wherever possible.
Conference
costs are kept low thanks to a generous USDOE Charter Schools Grant awarded
by the California Department of Education.
