OVERVIEW OF ROCKLIN ACADEMY
Rocklin Academy charter public school is the highest performing school in Placer County. Rocklin Academy students’ academic achievement on the STAR tests earned Rocklin Academy an API of 943. Rocklin Academy is the highest scoring school in Rocklin for the last five years. Rocklin Academy students are also among the highest scoring students statewide.
“Our goal at Rocklin Academy is to give every student the opportunity to perform at their personal best and we are so proud to see five years of continuous improvement,” said Executive Director, David Patterson, Ed.D. “I’m often asked what contributes to our ongoing success. We make no secret about our nationally acclaimed Core Knowledge Curriculum, which is rich in all subject areas including science, history, and art. Also Rocklin Academy’s school-wide schedule allows for more instruction time and ability-based classes. I’d also like to thank our parents. Their partnership allows us to reach out to every child in creative and innovative ways.”
Rocklin Academy is a public elementary school that operates tuition-free under the sponsorship of the Rocklin Unified School District, under the Charter School Act of 1992. The Academy is the only public school in the greater Sacramento area to offer the nationally recognized Core Knowledge curriculum and also offers Saxon Math, Junior Great Books, and Spanish Language instruction beginning in Kindergarten.
Rocklin Academy serves 360 students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. The Academy is housed at a shared campus on the Ruhkala Elementary school site.
